American Pools & Spas has been serving Central and South Florida for nearly 23 years. Our employees and their families are part of the communities in which we build pools. As such, we are very proud to be able to give back to our local charities and organizations.

APS Employees Play Santa for Two Families

In December 2016, APS employees adopted two homeless families through St. Stephen Catholic Community in Winter Springs. One was a family with three children and the other has two children. The company came together to purchase every item on their Christmas lists from bedding, toys, Barbie dolls, basketballs, footballs, skateboards, electronics and more. The employees presented their gift to Ben and Diane Evans at their annual Christmas party. We delivered the presents to St. Stephen’s Catholic Community on December 19 so the church can give to the families.

Other Community Contributions

APS is a proud supporter of various Central and South Florida community charities. Below are just some of the ones we consistently participate, volunteer, or donate to.

American Pools

Give Kids The World is an 84- acre, nonprofit resort in Central Florida that accommodates and entertain children of all abilities. The Village has fun attractions, venues and activities for the kids. Thousands of children are diagnosed with a critical illness and they are granted one wish. Give Kids The World is able to make their wish come true and provide week long, cost-free vacations to children with a critical illness and their families. American Pools & Spas was able to purchase one of the ‘Premium Plus’ Tables and part of the proceeds go to funding a child’s experience of a lifetime.

Special Olympics Florida Gala – A 3 course meal, drinks, silent auctions and live entertainment was provided for the evening event. We are honored to have helped a great cause for people who are interested in health and fitness. “All event proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Florida, helping to support its ongoing mission to provide year-round sports training and competition, leadership development, health services and inclusive school engagement for more than 54,000 athletes across the state” (Orlando Magazine, 2019).

habitat for humanity

Habitat for Humanity advocates in affordable housing, from building homes through volunteers, to donations from companies that fund the materials. This was an opportunity for Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) members to come together and help with a common goal. The community we helped was in Arbor Bend, in Apopka, Florida. The homes are modestly sized, to help keep maintenance costs down for low-income families – seeking to purchase a home.

fspa

Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA) – Pictured from left to right, we have Rowdy Gaines (3-time Olympic Gold Medalist), Sonja Dickey (FSPA CF Chapter Coordinator), and Ben Evans (owner of American Pools and Spas). Ben Evans is a proud and active member in the FSPA, he and Rowdy generously donated to the YMCA campaign during ‘Water Safety Month’. The campaign recognizes that swimming is a life skill every child should learn. This donation helped the YMCA provide free swim lessons across six different counties, at selected locations through the month of May, in the Central Florida area.

second harvest

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida – A non-profit organization that collects, stores, and distribute donated foods with the help of feeding partners, volunteers, and donations. We are honored to have helped make an impact and lend a hand in donation sorting. Our team was able to sort though and provide 3,835 meals! It was such a lively experience, and we hope to back soon. #FeedHopeNow
